The Row San Jose, BW Signature Collection

It was important to us to get the room with the jetted tub, so we paid extra for that room. It was a beautiful room with great lighting. I loved everything about it, but unfortunately the jetted tub was broken. Maintenance came and could not fixt it. They tried for quite awhile. They could not repair it and couldn’t offer us a room switch. So they said they were going to give us a cheaper rate, as we paid extra for the tub. Which I was sad about, but I found that fair. At checkout the digital concierge didn’t know what I was talking about. I ended up asking for a manager because she wasn’t understanding and I am not going to pay for an amenity I didn’t receive. Finally a few days later the price reduction showed up on my CC. Other than the tub not working and concierge having to call management to find out if they did in fact owe me a reduction during checkout, it was a lovely experience, the maintenance staff was really nice and I liked the style of the room and hotel. Breakfast was simple with beagles/cereal/yogurt but was a nice place to sit and eat. Although, the room was missing some basic amenities and the door downstairs which locks at night for “security reasons” was locked during the day accidentally once which made checkout extra frustrating.

Simple contactless check in, nicely updated rooms and plenty of space. Decent beds and good pillows, and the shower has good pressure. Negatives, road noise was pretty bad and location is right on the edge of a sketch area. No bath towels when we checked in and took until the next morning to get them (after we had left the room). Light over the sink constantly flickers, ceiling fan is nice to have, but no speed control and it is on super high. Lastly shower area could use some fresh caulking so maintenance seems to be a bit lacking.

My room was very clean and quiet. I never saw another person inside the hotel for the three days that I was there. Very high tech. No staff but checking in and out was a breeze. Make sure you fill out the questionnaire before you arrive so you have the codes to the building and room. Pay for the onsite parking. I never had a problem with the parking but should note that is not a secured parking area. Anyone can walk in but it’s way safer than parking in the street. I would definitely stay here again.
